Everything to Love About Cielo Farms Vineyard Wedding & Event Venue

Cielo Farms is rural-farm-energy-meets-Italian-dinner-party-vibes, and it somehow works really well. It could basically be a setting in a rom-com wedding scene, and it would make total sense.

The Malibu mountain views from here are enough to make it dream wedding venue status, but when you add in the walkway with green arches and the open fields and the Tuscan-inspired architecture… It takes it up a notch!!

Weddings here also just feel relaxed, and that’s one of many things that drew Haley and Coleman to it. I mean… They came from Texas just for this venue, so you already KNOW it’s good stuff.

Why Cielo Farms Makes a PERFECT Destination Wedding Venue in Southern California

Haley and Coleman knew what they were doing when they chose Cielo Farms as their Malibu destination wedding venue.

As I said, they were really drawn to it for its beauty and laidback feel, but some other things that make this venue really perfect for destination weddings are:

  • You can host full wedding weekends here

  • It shows off the best of Southern California for people who have never been

  • It’s a space that pushes connection

  • Things flow really easily

  • It literally feels like Italy

Even if you’re a SoCal native like me and want the feel of a destination wedding without actually having to plan one… Cielo Farms is perfect. The Tuscan-style architecture and decor make it feel like you’re not even in California anymore!!

Planning Tips for Your Cielo Farms Wedding

Let’s get into the logistics of the venue to see if it works for YOUR dream wedding. I mean, it basically works for any wedding, so… You’re in luck!

An Overview of Cielo Farms Vineyard Wedding & Event Venue

  • Max guest capacity is 200, so you get to have all your favorite people there and actually talk to them. Wild concept, right??

  • They don’t have on-site accommodations, but they do have getting-ready suites that you can use, starting at 10:00 am. That gives you time to grab an iced latte and a quick bite to eat before you head over with your girls!!!

  • Everything is outdoors, but they do have a tent for a rain plan, so you’re (literally) covered there. Not having an indoor option is totally fine, though, because you truly cannot beat the mountain views here!!

  • Planning your wedding is suuuper easy because they have all-inclusive packages. So, wedding planning = kicking your feet up and having a glass of wine. Love that.

If something about these details doesn’t work for your wedding, I highly recommend checking out my guide on Tivoli. It has a super similar feel that you’ll adore if you like Cielo Farms!!

How to Design Your Cielo Farms Wedding

Wedding design is my Super Bowl, and if you’re looking for ideas, I’ve 100% got you covered.

For Cielo Farms, I alwaysss recommend leaning into the natural feel of the venue. Anything that feels organic or Italian-inspired works really well here, because it complements the venue and never competes with it.

I picture candlelit outdoor receptions, wine-inspired color palettes (hellooo, burgundy + olive!!), and decor that feels elevated, but still laidback. Haley and Coleman did this so well with patterned tablecloths and napkins, natural floral arrangements, and small details that were luxe but not overdone.

Ideas for a Wedding Weekend at Cielo Farms

If “wedding weekend” made your ears perk up like a dog, you’re kinda my soulmate!!

Seriously, though, wedding weekends are always some of my FAVORITE things to capture. This one I got to be a part of was a total vibe, if you need inspo, but for Cielo Farms, I’d definitely choose to have a welcome party the night before with good wine and small bites.

Haley and Coleman had a welcome party, a night-before party, and then their wedding as the main event. The welcome party was simple and full of connection, and the couple had everyone wear white for them to stand out in blue, which I LOVED. The night-before party consisted of a sit-down dinner where everyone got to really bask in the excitement of the weekend over some incredible food and gorgeous views!!

The layout of the whole weekend was perfect, and it gave everyone the chance to really get to connect and be present all weekend long, which is something that makes my heart swell three sizes bigger.

The Best Time of Year for a Cielo Farms Wedding

Okay, one thing to know about me is that I’m a summer girl through-and-through. I love everything about summer dearly!! The golden hours, the temperatures, the feel of long days… And that energy just feels right at Cielo. It’s your people belly-laughing at dinner. It’s the way the light sparkles off the wine glasses. It’s your grandparents swaying on the dance floor when the sun is down for the night.

Summer forever!!!

Hotels for Guests Near Cielo Farms

Cielo Farms is super close to Malibu, which makes it super convenient for guests if you’re planning a destination wedding. The closest hotel is Calamigos Ranch, which is also a wedding venue I love!!

Scenes From Haley and Coleman’s Dream Wedding

I’m giving you more of a peek into Haley and Coleman’s day because… I know you want it.

Basically everything about the day felt like them and all of their favorite people hopped on a flight from LAX to Tuscany, Italy, and the vibes were as good as it sounds. Their families were the sweetest people. Like, the kind of people where I spent a week with them and felt like I was a part of the family, too.

As though the day wasn’t already something out of a dream, the sunset really showed off for us. Before I started snapping my ‘lil camera like a crazy person, Haley, Coleman, and I took it alllll in. And that view of the sun setting over the mountains?? It’s etched into my Malibu wedding photographer brain for forever and ever now.

When we got back from sunset portraits, the party was still going strong with candlelight flickering, the BEST music, and some delicious cake, which is pretty much the recipe for the best night ever.

I have to brag on the vendors, because everyone worked together to make this day something really incredible:

Planner: Kelly Patrice

Florist: Creative Light Design

Quartet: William Yun

Rentals: Premiere Rentals

Music: Dart Collective

Food and Bar: Pausmith Group
