Okay, Terranea Resort is one of those places that has everything. It looks like something out of a Taylor Swift music video; it feels totally effortless and full of good vibes, and don’t even get me started on how easy it is to plan a wedding here. It’s literally the WHOLE package, and I love that for you!!
Terranea is a luxury hotel in Palos Verdes, California, and weddings here feel like magic in its purest form. If you choose Terranea as your wedding venue, your wedding is gonna be super cool and super luxe, no matter what. And isn’t that the dream??

The Best Time of Year for a Terranea Resort Wedding
Listen… I’m a summer girl through and through. Sue me!
Southern California has PEAK vibes in the spring and summer, and Terranea Resort is no different. The sunshine is insane, the ocean is that perfect shade of blue, and the sunset is always incredible for photos!! How could you NOT love it??
While Terranea Resort weddings can be held year-round, I’m a sucker for the energy spring and summer bring. If fall or winter is more your vibe, though, the venue still works beautifully.
The Venue Spaces at Terranea Resort
You guessed it: the resort is FILLED with gorgeous spaces. I can’t lie… Choosing your ceremony venue and reception venue might just be the hardest part of wedding planning. A good problem to have, I guess??
Here are the ceremony spaces that you can choose from:
Catalina Point – I mean, if you want an outdoor, oceanfront ceremony, it doesn’t get more classic than this. Ceremonies here are stunning and can hold up to 220 guests!!
The Meadows – if you’re still craving that outdoor feel but don’t necessarily want to be right in front of the ocean (or you need a space that can hold up to 700 guests), The Meadows makes a dream spot where you’re surrounded by greenery and nothing but magic.
The Ocean Lawn – views of the ocean AND the Palos Verdes Peninsula?? Pinch me. This ceremony space can hold up to 350 people in the most picturesque darn setting you’ve ever seen.
Now, for the reception, you have indoor options, outdoor options, and a little bit of a mix of both!! Here are the spaces for your Terranea Resort wedding reception:
The Catalina Ballroom – for classy, luxury ballroom energy, the Catalina Ballroom is PERFECT for you!! It’s a fully indoor space with room for 300, and it’s one of those places that’s really easy to make your own mark on.
The Catalina Lawn & Terrace – outdoor summer wedding receptions under string lights where you’re clinking champagne glasses and belly laughing with your guests?? They thrive here. An open lawn space that can hold up to 600 guests (with space for a dance floor) is just the perfect setting for that… Trust me.
Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom & Terrace – the indoor-outdoor energy will forever be one of my favorites, and I’ve seen how a space like this one makes a wedding day flow really well. Cocktail hours on the terrace and wedding reception tables set up inside get a 10/10 from me every time, and that’s no different in this space that can hold up to 2,400.
The Point Lawn & Terrace – even though this one can hold up to 400 guests, it feels incredible for intimate weddings to me. The covered patio overlooking the lawn is the most adorable little spot, and wedding receptions just have such a good energy here. Marineland Ballroom – another luxe ballroom space is the Marineland Ballroom, and it’s so similar to the Catalina Ballroom, except it holds 640 guests instead!!
Photo Ops at Terranea Resort
One thing to note about planning your Terranea wedding is that there will be hotel guests around. Of course, that’s no problem when you have a SoCal wedding photographer who knows how to work around a crowd (like meee!!), but know that you will be slightly at the mercy of where you can do photos because of the guests.
A few spaces that we can always hit, though, are off the main trails. Here are a few spots (other than the gorg venue spots already mentioned!!) that I’ll always whisk you two away to for portraits:

Seriously, though, I always recommend chatting to the staff at Terranea Resort about a wedding weekend. You can plan a welcome party in one of the smaller venues the night before, then have a small group join you for a post-wedding brunch at the on-site restaurant the morning after!!
Sophia and Grant’s Gorgeous, Totally Effortless Wedding Day
If you need wedding inspiration for a Terranea Resort wedding, you’ve struck gold. Because Sophia and Grant’s day was INSANE. Literally, take your entire Pinterest wedding inspiration board and toss it, because this day had the most incredible color scheme, wedding florals, reception setup, and ceremony vibes.
If you can’t tell… I’m still dreaming about this day. And no, I’ll never shut up about it.
The love they shared and the love that was surrounding them was enough to have me tearing up behind the camera (MULTIPLE times), and their reception was somehow even MORE wonderful than it looks. I don’t know how, but I swear it’s possible.
